Help A Special Child, Inc. invites you to participate in our 6th Annual Island Time Fishing Festival, Feb. 03-07 2015 in Isla Mujeres, Mexico! Isla Mujeres is a fisherman and fun lover’s dream. Each winter the sailfish arrive en masse to the beautiful clear waters of this island paradise. The Island Time Fishing Festival is the perfect tournament to show your angling skills and enjoy world class entertainment all while helping a great cause.
The format consists of two of four days fishing. This is a catch and release tournament and awards are given to Boats, Anglers and Jr. Anglers with the most releases. There are also awards for heaviest Wahoo, Tuna, Dolphin and King Mackerel. Swap fish tales with your co-competitors at The Captain’s Meeting. This is one tournament you do not want to miss!
A total of 351 sailfish were caught with 878 bites, in two days of fishing, at this year’s tournament. This year’s winning boat was Country Girl with 45 releases; second place went to Outlaw with 40 releases and third place to Obsession with 37 releases. Top Angler was Allen G on Pier Pressure. The largest Wahoo was caught by You Never Know, largest Tuna went to Shawn DeLude, largest Mackerel to Zubie and Dream Time won the largest Dorado category.
